Samuel Gompers
(January 27,1850- December 13,1924)

Position: Personally I do not support annexation. I am an anti-imperialist whom believes that the United States should not be involved in the matters of other countries. The uniqueness and ancient aspects of other countries are being destroyed and Americanized. Helping is one thing but changing the complete culture of a people is not admirable.

Occupation: My name is Samuel Gompers. I am the founder of the American Federation of Labor (AFL) and the president as well. The goal of my organization is to promote higher wages and less brutal work days that many Americans face. I also strive to encourage a change in politics to make it more fair to the people. Economic organization was used in order to accomplish many of the goals in our organization.

Reasons: I am interested in this topic because:
- Imperialism affects inhabitants and strips them of there national culture.
- Majority of the time we are not welcomed by the people.
- Expansion should have its limits.
- If a country does not want our help we should not enforce it upon them.
